On Saturday 4th February, the East Cambridgeshire Schools’ Art Exhibition opened at Babylon Gallery on Ely’s riverside. Now in its fourteenth year, the exhibition, which is supported by Tindalls Ltd and Ely Hereward Rotary Club, includes artworks in a variety of media from over 200 children and young people (aged 4 years to 19 years), from eighteen schools across East Cambridgeshire.
A panel of local artists, curators and creative producers had the difficult task of selecting three winners from each key stage, Foundation to key stage 5, and after careful deliberation were able to settle on a first, second and third in each of the categories.
Wednesday evening (8 February) saw the gallery packed to the rafters with beaming students and proud parents, relatives and friends, for the highly anticipated prize giving event. This year's winners received vouchers for art materials, donated by Tindalls Ltd and Ely Hereward Rotary Club.
