Don't miss our Sensing Nature Open Call

With only three weeks to go until our Sensing Nature Open Call deadline, make sure to have a go at our Sensing Nature Challenges! We are interested in finding out what nature means to you, and to hear about your personal stories and connection to the Fenland landscape. We welcome submissions in a range of styles and techniques, as well as work from all ages and experience levels.

Babylon ARTS are creating a multi-sensory exhibition inspired by how we experience nature through our senses, as part of our National Lottery Heritage Funded programme, Inspired by Nature.  We’re interested to find out what nature means to you, and to hear about your personal stories and connections to the Fenland landscape.  Find out more and apply at www.babylonarts.org.ukTry one (or all!) of our Sensing Nature Challenges  Challenge 1 – LISTEN Share an audio recording of your personal stories or experiences with nature, or record the sounds of the natural world around you. Challenge 2 – TOUCH Create a tactile artwork, made to be touched, inspired by the natural world. Think textiles, ceramic, or something made using natural materials. Challenge 3 – LOOK Draw your experience of nature – it could be abstract or observational, or even a tree rubbing. You might use a range of materials, or create something digitally using a smartphone or tablet.  Submission Deadline: Friday 1 December 2023  The Babylon Young Associates will select artworks to be exhibited in the Sensing Nature exhibition at Babylon Gallery in Spring 2024. Everyone who takes part in a challenge will also have their work showcased in a virtual gallery for the duration of the exhibition.
